Good v Bad

Battle scene.

My concept for these two characters was good vs evil but in terms of foods. Those who are candy or other foods considered “bad” for you are generally considered demonic beings while those who are “good” are considered heavenly.

Sketch vs Polished Designs.

I made the Veggie Angel very symmetrical and added made the candy corns on the Sweets Demon very large to emphasize asymmetry. For colors, I gave them both limited color palettes that opposed each other, giving the Veggie Angel more natural colors to contrast the Sweets Demon’s unnatural ones.

Veggie Angel Concept Sketches.

For these designs, I made the characters super round and friendly looking. I wanted them to seem harmless on the surface and use a lot of angel motifs.

Sweets Demon Concept Sketches.

I wanted these characters to look sly and mysterious. I tried using a lot of sharp shapes in order to contrast the Veggie Angels round and soft design. I was thinking that they could either be super strong or just cunning enough to commit their crimes.
